CAHSEE Information: All public high school students beginning with the graduating Class of 2006 must pass the two-part California High School Exit Exam in order to receive a diploma. It is given each spring to all 10th graders, and at other times during the year to 11th and 12th graders who have not passed both the language arts section and the math section. Sample questions and study guides are on the state exit exam website: http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/hs/resources.asp The exam measures whether students have mastered California State Standards and Frameworks. District teachers, working at their schools in professional learning communities, have set up supports to help all students meet these standards. Our school communities ask: What do the standards require children to learn? How do we know whether children are learning? How do we identify students early who need extra assisstance in learning?
