Grants and Workshops

GRANTS
The Board of Education should be informed when grants are being worked on or approved. Teachers should notify a site administrator when applying for all grants.

Solano Community Foundation- Mini-Grants up to $1,000 for projects that enhance curriculum and classroom instruction in one of these areas: 1. Arts and Culture, 2. Health and Wellness, 3. Media and Technology, 4. Math and Science, and 5. Reading and Literacy. Deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2011.

VPEF.org
Teacher mini-grants of $500 (or $1,000 for two or more teachers) are available from VPEF. Grants should focus on Educational Enrichment or Educational Opportunities. For details or to apply download the grant form in Microsoft Word. Deadline is Oct. 3, 2011.

Anheuser-Busch Community Grant
Anheuser-Busch places education as one of its primary focus areas in communities where the company and its subsidiaries operate.

National Council of Mathematics Teachers A range of grant programs to support math teachers. Various deadlines.

CTAP Region IV Funding Alert - collection of current tech funding opportunities from California Tech. Assistance Prog. in Alameda County.

CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS

CTAP3 Workshops - technology classes in the Sacramento area.

CTAP4 Workshops - Events calendar in the Bay Area, including Solano.

The Conference Calendar - search for upcoming (mostly tech-related) workshops in the state or country.

Contests and Offers

Reporter's E-Edition - Teachers in Vacaville Unified can sign up to receive free The Report E-edition, a full pdf version of The Vacaville Reporter. Fill out the attached form.

Young Minds Digital Times Film Competition - is an innovative film competition for students in grades 6-8 and 9-12 to showcase their work and win prizes.

SchoolTube.com Video Contests - - Various contests for student- and class-submitted videos.

The Follett Challenge - is a contest for schools to show off how they use technology in the library. Submit a short video by June 1 to win up to $35,000.

Olympus Classroom Grants and contests - Three contests with varying deadlines, thirty five winners. $50,000 in awards.
