InfoCentre

InfoCentre is VUSD's library card catalog, used by all schools except Buckingham. As with RenPlace and ABI, it is server-based and is only accessible within the school district network.

Items listed in the Board Approvals collection is for reference only. It lists movies, books, and other supplementary materials that have been approved for teachers to use in the classroom. Those materials may or may not be on hand.

The District IMC collection contains actual materials that may be checked out by teachers. Send item requests to Mary Perez in Ed Services, via email to MaryP@Vacavilleusd.org Items will be delivered through district mail.

Features of InfoCentre

Visual Search: Younger students can search for topics by clicking on icons such as Animals, Stories, Sports, etc.

Reading Program: Students in elementary and middle school can search for books within their AR level using the Reading Program button. Enter either a specific level such as 4.3 or a reading range (ZPD) by separating the two levels with two periods (example - type 4.3..5.7 to search for AR books from 4.3 up to 5.7) Additional search terms such as book points, author or subject can be included as well. The search will return a match for all books with known quiz. For more information about using this feature contact Barry Rico in the tech department at BarryR@Vacavilleusd.org.
For an another way to search for library books with AR quizzes see our QuizList matching site for elementary and middle schools. QuizList can be used at home or school.

Web site referrals: The software also tells students if appropriate web sites exist for their search. In other words, if a student searches for books on Egypt, they'll also have a chance to connnect to a web site about Egypt. These are marked with a globe icon.
