Setting up your account for 2011:
  • Log on with your old account or create a new account with the access codes at right.
  • Remember: all usernames and password on Pearson are case sensitive Use the links on the login page if you forgot your username or password. If that doesn't work you can email Barry Rico at BarryR@Vacavilleusd.org.
  • Teachers who changed grade levels will need the access codes at right to gain access to new grade level materials. Log on to your old account and follow the directions for combination classes/new grade level access.
Giving students access to Pearson
In order for students to log in teachers must:
  • Create a login for themselves (above)
  • Log on and create a class
  • Enroll the generic student into the class See note below
  • Provide students with the username and password for the generic account
  • Directions for doing that are here.

2011-12 note about student accounts:
Unfortunately, Pearson removes unused students accounts at the end of every year. Though the tech department has uploaded generic student accounts in the past, we did not do that for 2011-12 because so few teachers use them (and then they get deleted by Pearson.)
Generic accounts used the teacher's name-and-grade for the username (such as Smith4) and the school name as the password (such as cooper or alamo1). Teachers who used their student accounts last year should find that they still exist in the database and can be used again.
If your student account does not exist, or you would like each student to have a unique login you can set that up yourself, or contact Barry Rico for help.
Creating a New Teacher Login:

  • Double-click one of the access codes below to highlight it. Then choose COPY under the edit menu.
  • Click the link above or here to log on to PearsonSuccessnet.com
  • On Pearson click the REGISTER button and paste in the access code.
  • Follow the rest of the directions there, being sure to choose your correct school. Write down your username and password. BOTH are case sensitive.
  • To add Spanish materials come back to this page to copy the access codes below.

  • Click the link below for Pearson Successnet, and then click the Register button on that page.
  • Paste in the registration code and follow the directions there.
Combination classes / New grade level access
  • After logging on or registering using an access code for one grade level, click the My Account link on the Pearson site.
  • Click the Manage Products link. 
  • Click Add New Products.
  • Put in the access code from above for other grade level materials.
  • Click "Check Code" and confirm on the next screen.
  • You won't see the new products until you log out of Pearson and then log back in. 
Spanish Textbooks online (Elementary only)
Access codes for K-6 Spanish version of the textbooks were added in 2009. Following the directions above, paste in the access code below for your grade level to give yourself and/or students access to Spanish textbooks.

  • After adding the access codes below to the Manage Products link described above, you must log off Pearson and then log back in to your teacher account.
  • Go to the Manage Classes page using the drop-down under Classes.
  • Click the link for the name of your class (such as Grade 4)
  • You should see the new Spanish Textbook listed. Select it to grant your students rights to view those materials. (see below.)
  • Click Save.
